Against the backdrop of slow travel becoming increasingly popular worldwide, destinations that offer unspoilt beauty, tranquillity, and rich local experiences are emerging as top choices for international travellers.

Instead of squeezing into crowded tourist attractions or large-scale resorts, more and more travellers now want to spend time in places that offer a sense of closeness, privacy, and immersive experiences.

In Condé Nast Traveller’s list of the world’s 53 most beautiful small towns, Sa Pa is celebrated as a standout destination, leaving a strong impression with its natural beauty and distinctive cultural setting.

Nestled in Viet Nam’s north-western mountains, Sa Pa is described as a relatively peaceful highland town, set apart from the bustle of urban life.

What makes the town particularly striking is its magnificent natural landscape, with layers of mountains, sweeping terraced fields, dramatic waterfalls, and spectacular trekking routes, offering visitors the chance to explore nature to the fullest.

Sa Pa is a vivid example of the appeal of small towns with a slower pace of life and a peaceful setting, where travellers can slow down to enjoy nature, culture, and local life while gaining a deeper sense of the destination.

Alongside Sa Pa, representing Viet Nam, other charming towns featured on Condé Nast Traveller’s list include Rovinj in Croatia, Kinsale in Ireland, Varenna in Italy, Ban Rak Thai in Thailand, Baños in Ecuador, Perast in Montenegro, Chefchaouen in Morocco, Albarracín in Spain, Bar Harbor in the US, Biei in Japan, Bled in Slovenia, Bocas del Toro in Panama, Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay, and Castle Combe in the UK.
