For the past 10 years, An Mi Tools Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Nam Từ Liêm District, Hanoi) has been providing tools for companies manufacturing components and parts in the aviation supply chain in Vietnam. The company has identified many potential opportunities for growth in the aviation industry in Hanoi and Vietnam as a whole.
Nguyen Nguyet Anh, CEO of An Mi Tools Co., Ltd., shared: “In the beginning, we were just a distributor, importing tools from European manufacturers to supply to customers. But gradually, step by step, as the aviation industry has developed, we have begun manufacturing our own products to directly supply to companies producing components and parts, joining the supply chain network”.
At the Hanoi Southern Supporting Industrial Park (HANSSIP), the Vietnam-Japan Techno Park complex has also been established with a cooperation agreement signed between the Hanoi Supporting Industry Business Association (HANSIBA) and a delegation of 10 aviation companies from the Kobe region (Japan).
The establishment of this complex aims to promote cooperation in the development, investment, and production of electrical equipment, precision mechanical devices for the aerospace industry, as well as high-tech labour training, management operations, and technology transfer to serve the aviation and aerospace industries.
Additionally, delegations from the Republic of Korea (RoK) and China have worked with the Hanoi Municipal Department of Industry and Trade to explore investment opportunities and the development of high-tech, environmentally-friendly products.
So far, Hanoi has nearly 300 supporting industry enterprises that meet international standards, which are fully capable of meeting the needs of the overall industrial development, particularly in the aviation support industry.
Enterprises in the supporting industry sector can explore opportunities to participate in the supply chain and production networks of the aviation industry. |
In 2023, the Hanoi Municipal Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with Advanced Business Events (ABE - France), organised the International Expo on Sustainable Production, Supply, and Consumption Networks in the Aviation Industry (AeroExpo Hanoi & Vietnam Aviation Forum 2023).
The exhibition featured over 120 booths from 10 countries, including approximately 70 local booths showcasing products, technologies, production capabilities, and technical infrastructure in the aviation industry.
With the participation of major global airlines such as Airbus, Boeing, China Southern, China Eastern, and other enterprises from around the world, the event played a key role in promoting the Hanoi industrial sector, especially the aviation industry, to over 160 partners in the global aviation supply chain.
The expo attracted nearly 3,000 visitors and facilitated more than 500 meetings and collaborations. Domestic and international companies signed memorandums of understanding and contracts with a total value of around 20 million USD, highlighting the tremendous potential and opportunities within the aviation industry.
Enterprises introduce products and technologies within the framework of the International Conference on Aviation Industry organised by the Hanoi Municipal Department of Industry and Trade. |
At the international conference on aviation industry organised by the Hanoi Municipal Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with Advanced Business Events (ABE - France) on December 17, 2024, ABE CEO Stephane Castet stated that over the next 20 years, the world will need 40,000 aircraft. Passenger traffic will surge in many regions of Asia, Africa, and beyond. For this market, we cannot go it alone; we need new partnerships to form a strong network and make the most of our potential, strengths, and opportunities.
They are eager to accompany Hanoi in particular, and Vietnam in general, in the process of developing a sustainable global aviation production, supply, and consumption network, said the ABE representative.
While there are many potentials and opportunities, in order to effectively engage in the aviation industry, domestic businesses must continue to improve and enhance their capabilities. In addition to factors like capital and technological expertise, businesses must also have a highly skilled workforce.
A representative from An Mi Tools Co., Ltd. stated that the aviation industry has very high technological requirements, so the company hopes for the establishment of high-quality training centres that can meet these needs. This is because having machines alone is not enough; without skilled labour, it is difficult to operate effectively.
In its socio-economic development strategy, Hanoi is striving to integrate industrial products into the global value chain and develop a modern and sustainable supporting industry. Among them, the aviation industry will receive significant attention and prioritisation.
Nguyen Dinh Thang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Municipal Department of Industry and Trade, said that the department will continue to implement solutions such as connecting and supporting businesses to become suppliers for multinational companies and large corporations in the aviation field, both domestic and international. At the same time, the department will assist businesses in applying management systems that meet the requirements of global production chains in enterprise governance, production management, etc. As a result, Hanoi aims to gradually create an environment for developing a high-end sustainable network that applies advanced technology, high levels of knowledge, clean production, and air transportation linked with consumers.
