Under the theme “Connecting Potential — Creating the Future”, the event facilitated an opportunity for local authorities and the business community to engage in direct dialogue, identify bottlenecks, seek solutions, and expand opportunities for investment cooperation in the area.
Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Hong Hai, Standing Committee member of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, emphasised that alongside its potential and strengths, Lam Dong was entering a new phase of development with a renewed mindset, a reorganisation of its socio-economic space, and the establishment of new strategic and sustainable growth drivers. This constituted an opportunity for the province to shift from a mindset of “attracting investment project by project” to “creating an investment ecosystem and value chains”.
He requested that following the conference, the issues raised by businesses and investors be absorbed, classified, and addressed within the relevant authorities' remit. For matters requiring coordination among multiple sectors, the lead agency, coordinating agencies, and deadlines for resolution should be clearly identified.
At the conference, the localities showcased their potential, strengths, and development orientations, as well as investment projects and project portfolios seeking investment in areas with strong growth potential, including tourism, services, the night-time economy, and high-tech agriculture, along with sectors aligned with the province's socio-economic development strategies and orientations.
Many investors and businesses deliberated on difficulties and obstacles in order to work together to resolve them and create favourable conditions for investment, production, and business activities in the area.
Representing the localities, Nguyen Van Loc, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Huong-Da Lat Ward, affirmed that the localities perceived investment attraction as more than simply attracting capital. More importantly, it meant attracting high-quality projects with strong implementation capacity, using resources efficiently, creating jobs, increasing people's incomes, contributing to the State budget, protecting the environment, and generating sustainable development value for the localities.
He also expressed his hope that when businesses and investors engage with the localities, they will find not only investment opportunities but also partnership, trust, and a favourable environment for long-term and sustainable development.
