No Vietnamese citizens currently detained by Ukraine

No Vietnamese citizens are currently being detained by Ukraine, head of the Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department Ly Quoc Tuan affirmed on February 3.

Recently, Ukrainian authorities raided a Vietnamese quarter called Lang Sen (Lotus Village) in Odessa and detained three Vietnamese citizens.

Following the incident, the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine promptly conducted citizen protection and two of the arrestees were released immediately on the same day.

According to the embassy, one other, Nguyen Van Hung, who was detained on January 29, has also been set free.
