Accordingly, the Prime Minister has requested that ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and the chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities continue to promote the implementation of the directives of the Head of the Steering Committee for Price Management within the scope of field and management authority, to step up the implementation and monitoring of market developments, and to promptly implement solutions to ensure the balance of domestic supply and demand, stabilise prices, and prevent the shortage of goods, hoarding, speculation, unreasonable price increase.
Regarding items directly affected by gasoline prices such as passenger transport services, freight transport, logistics, the Minister of Transport shall coordinate with Chairmen of the People's Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities to review enterprises' price declarations to assess the adjustment of prices in accordance with fluctuations of input factors.
For essential goods and services which are indirectly affected by the price of gasoline and have an impact on the consumer price index and affect people's lives and the production and business activities of enterprises, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities shall closely direct the monitoring of market price movements, organise and grasp the performance of business organisations and individuals in order to take appropriate management and price stabilisation measures; strengthen the inspection and control of the observance of the law on prices as well as measures to declare and list prices, and strictly handle cases of abuse to raise prices unreasonably; and actively inspect the price-forming factors in accordance with the Law on Prices and according to its competence when goods have abnormal fluctuations and handle violations according to regulations.
