Over 4,000 young volunteers to serve State funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

More than 4,000 Youth Union members and young people have registered to volunteer to serve at the State funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, scheduled for July 25 and 26, according to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi.

Volunteers will carry out tasks at four main sites, including the National Morgue (No. 5A Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District), the late General Secretary’s house (No. 5 Thien Quang Street, Hai Ba Trung District), Lai Da Village in Dong Hoi Commune, Hanoi’s Dong Anh District, and Mai Dich Cemetery (Cau Giay District), in addition to some streets during the movement of the coffin.

The volunteers will support and guide delegations and people who come to pay their respects to the late General Secretary, from 6 am to 10 pm during the state mourning period.

In addition, they will provide free water, snacks, paper fans, umbrellas, and raincoats to mourners during the funeral, as well as participate in ensuring traffic order and environmental sanitation.
