The content of Notice No. 62-TB/TW dated May 22, 2026, clearly stated that on May 14, 2026, in Ha Noi, the Steering Committee for the Review of 100 Years of the Party's Leadership of the Vietnamese Revolution and the Orientation for National Development in the Next 100 Years, and the Review of 40 Years of Implementing the Platform for National Construction during the Transition Period to Socialism held its first meeting under the chairmanship of To Lam, General Secretary, President, and Head of the Steering Committee.
After hearing the report from the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee and the opinions of the members of the Steering Committee, the General Secretary, President, and Head of the Steering Committee concluded the summary of 100 years of the Party’s leadership of the Vietnamese revolution, the orientation for national development in the next 100 years, and the summary of 40 years of implementing the Platform for building the country during the transitional period to socialism is a particularly important political task, with great theoretical, practical, political, ideological, and organisational significance; it is a strategic undertaking of the Party and the nation aimed at serving the planning of the country’s development path in the new era — the era of the nation’s rise.
The summary of 100 years of the Party’s leadership of the Vietnamese revolution is not merely about recounting historical events in chronological order but must focus on evaluating the entire great, glorious, yet also sacrificial, challenging, and arduous historical journey of our Party and nation; It is necessary to answer major strategic questions that have long-term guiding value for the cause of national construction and defence.
The Steering Committee basically agreed with the major orientations proposed by the Editorial Team, especially the contents on: the Party’s first Platform — a vision spanning centuries; upholding the banner of national independence linked with socialism; steadfastly applying and creatively developing the Party’s ideological foundation; promoting the strength of the people and the great national unity under the Party's leadership; combining national strength with the strength of the times; the major relationships and the lessons of the laws of the Vietnamese revolution.
The review process must ensure openness, objectivity, and scientific rigour; accurately assess achievements, limitations, causes, and lessons learned; closely combine inheritance and development, and combine the review of the past with the orientation of the future.
The members of the Steering Committee and the assigned agencies and units should demonstrate a high level of responsibility, focus on leadership and guidance, and organise implementation to ensure progress and quality, contributing to the successful completion of this comprehensive project with profound theoretical and practical value, serving effectively the planning of national development guidelines in the new period.
