The Politburo’s decision was announced during the provincial Party Committee’s conference, chaired by Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Organisation Commission Le Minh Hung, on December 3.

Under the decision, An will be relieved from his current positions as a member of the Party Committee of Central Party Agencies for the 2020–2025 term, and Deputy Head of the Organisation Commission.

Instead, he is appointed to the Standing Board of the Cao Bang provincial Party Committee and the Party Committee of Military Region 1.

In his speech, Hung asked An to closely follow the Politburo’s directives set out at the 20th provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term, and spare no effort to bring its resolutions into practice.

An was also assigned to work with relevant units to speed up the restructuring of public service units as planned, push forward digital transformation and integrated one-stop administrative services, expand shared databases connected to population and land records, and finalise the reorganisation of civil servant staffing at the commune and ward levels.

In his remarks upon assuming the post, An expressed wish to work closely with the provincial Party Organisation and ethnic communities to effectively carry out action plan for the 20th provincial Party Congress’s resolution, particularly its 12 key targets, 3 central tasks, and 3 strategic breakthroughs to ensure national defence-security, enhance external relations, and drive socio-political, economic and cultural development.
