On July 23, the Heart of Vietnamese Soldiers organisation, in coordination with the Forever 20 Club, Vietnam Urban and Environment Magazine, the Vietnamese Women’s Museum and the Vietnamese Dang Family Council, introduced the restored portraits of the 10 female martyrs of the Lam Ha Militia at a ceremony in Hanoi.
The Lam Ha Air Defence Militia Company was established on August 5, 1965, including 87 officers and soldiers, with a female platoon. The Lam Ha Female Militia Platoon participated in fighting to protect the Lam Ha area during the fierce battles against the US. The 10 militiawomen sacrificed their lives between 1966-1967.
A group of young artists from the Heart of Vietnamese Soldiers organisation encountered several difficulties during the restoration process, as the martyrs' black and white photos were faded or in poor condition, with some martyrs having no images.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Director of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, thanked the Heart of Vietnamese Soldiers organisation, the Forever 20 Club and other agencies for the restoration project, saying that the restored photos will be included in exhibitions in the near future.
At the event, the “Dang Thuy Tram Bookcase”, worth 100 million VND was presented to Luong Van Nam Secondary School in Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province. This is the third bookcase presented to Bac Giang Province and the 14th one presented to localities nationwide, since November 2023.
