President extends Tet greetings to businesses and soldiers

President Truong Tan Sang on February 5 visited and extended congratulations to staff members of the Party Committee of the Centrally-run Business Bloc ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

He expressed his hope that the bloc would gain more success in the first year of implementing the 12th Party Congress’s Resolution.

He also request the bloc’s Party Committee enhance Party building and lead the bloc to win in both domestic and foreign markets.

Visiting the Overseas Party Committee (OPC), he thanked them for sound diplomacy activities helping to affirm Vietnam’s position, significantly contributed by the OPC.

He called on the OPC to better its economic diplomacy work in order to take advantage of international support and attract more foreign direct investment, thus contributing to facilitating the country’s development.

Talking with officers and soldiers of the Intelligence General Department under the Ministry of Public Security, President Sang hailed the service’s timely consulting for the Party and State on devising policies on national construction and development, security maintenance, and protection of national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He requested the unit reform its operations and be active in detecting threats to the national security to work out proper measure to contain them.
