Speaking at the event, Governor of Nakhon Phanom Province Adisak Noisuwan emphasised that 19 May is an important annual celebration for the Vietnamese people as well as OVs in Thailand, contributing to the consolidation of friendship between Viet Nam and Thailand.

For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung noted that President Ho’s revolutionary activities in Thailand remain a cherished chapter in history, preserved with pride and deep respect by generations of Overseas Vietnamese.

The Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Nakhon Phanom has become not only a place of historical remembrance but also a venue for strengthening community solidarity and friendship between Viet Nam and Thailand, he stated.

He expressed his pleasure that Viet Nam–Thailand relations have expanded strongly and comprehensively over the past five decades across politics, security, defence, economy, trade, education, culture and people‑to‑people exchanges, voicing his belief that bilateral friendship will continue to deepen, contributing to peace and sustainable prosperity for both nations.

Also on May 19, the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States held an incense‑offering ceremony in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at the Vietnam House in Washington DC.

In his speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung stressed that President Ho Chi Minh’s forward‑looking diplomatic vision became a solid foundation for Viet Nam’s foreign policy of independence, self‑reliance, peace, friendship and cooperation with all countries.

The diplomat observed that the late leader laid the very first cornerstone for Viet Nam–US relations in the 20th century, which have since developed into a comprehensive strategic partnership.

He affirmed that the establishment of the partnership in 2023 marked a historic milestone, representing not only the outcome of current diplomatic efforts but also the realisation of President Ho Chi Minh’s long‑cherished aspirations.
