President Nguyen Xuan Phuc pays tribute to late State leaders

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc extended his New Year greetings during visits to the families of the late President Ton Duc Thang and the late President Tran Dai Quang on January 1.

At the home of President Ton Duc Thang, President Phuc affirmed that the late leader, fondly called Uncle Ton, was associated with the country’s heroic struggle in the 20th century and was a fervent activist in the international workers’ movement and a steadfast Communist.

He added that Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton are the symbols of the great Vietnamese national unity.

While offering incense to President Ton Duc Thang, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his profound gratitude to the late leader and vowed to continue promoting the strength of national unity to make Vietnam a prosperous country.

On the same day, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc also visited the family and paid tribute to the late President Tran Dai Quang, who was the Vietnamese head of state from 2016-2018.
