Speaking at the launch ceremony, Phuong Hoang Kim, Director of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development and Chief of the Office of the Steering Committee for Energy Saving, said that the launch of the press award is among communication activities held within the framework of the Vietnam National Energy Efficient Programme (VNEEP) for the 2019-2030 period.
The award aims to detect energy-saving solutions while raising awareness and responsibility of the community, in the economical and efficient use of energy.
The award includes four categories, printed and online newspaper, radio and television. It is open to all professional and amateur reporters and collaborators at press agencies across the country.
The entries should popularise the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws on the economical and efficient use of energy, and honour sectors, organisations and units, with initiatives and solutions on reducing energy consumption and power loss.
They should also update readers on knowledge and new technologies in energy saving.
The organising board will present 35 prizes worth 274 million VND in total, to the best entries at an award ceremony, which is scheduled in the fourth quarter this year.
