Including Viet Nam's Science, Technology and Innovation Day into law is considered not only significant in honouring the scientific community but also reflects a shift in development thinking, as science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation are identified as the central driving force of the new growth model; simultaneously creating a competitive atmosphere for scientific research, technological development, and innovation.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, many activities in response to this event, themed “Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation – The Main Driving Force of the New Growth Model,” will be organised.
These activities will take place from May 12-18, 2026, following the principles of practicality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, linked to the political tasks and practical conditions of each agency and unit. Nationwide promotional activities will focus on showcasing outstanding achievements in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
In the context of Viet Nam’s accelerated implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, the Viet Nam Science, Technology and Innovation Day is expected to become an annual forum to connect management agencies, the scientific community, businesses, and society.
At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the connection of the innovation ecosystem, attract high-quality resources, and create new impetus to promote the development of the science and technology sector in the context of the country entering a new stage of development.
