Prominent among the events are the Yen Tu Spring Festival 2026, Yen Tu Retreat: Source of Enlightenment, an exhibition on Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhism, and an OCOP product fair alongside a regional cuisine festival.
The Yen Tu Spring Festival 2026, co-hosted by the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board and the Quang Ninh Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee, will take place on February 26, the 10th day of the first lunar month, at Truc Lam Palace. The festival is expected to attract around 5,000 visitors.
Mai Vu Tuan, Head of the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, emphasised that the series of events aim to showcase the historical depth, cultural values, landscapes, and Truc Lam spirit, while raising community awareness of heritage preservation. The programme also seeks to position Yen Tu as a safe, friendly, and attractive cultural-spiritual destination.
Over recent years, Quang Ninh has viewed culture as the foundation for sustainable development, with ambitions to become a regional arts centre and a leading heritage tourism destination in Asia.
To express gratitude to the community and stimulate tourism following the official inscription of the Yen Tu Relics and Landscape Complex as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Council passed a resolution granting free admission to the complex from 2026 through to the end of 2028.
The move is seen as a meaningful gesture of appreciation by the northern province towards residents, monks, Buddhists, and visitors whose contributions played an important role in protecting, preserving, and building the successful World Heritage dossier.
Beyond meeting public aspirations, free entry is expected to help promote the image of Yen Tu – regarded as the cradle of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect and closely associated with the spiritual legacy of King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong.
