Recreating a thousand-year-old Hanoi in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City

On the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2024), Ho Chi Minh City residents will be able to explore and experience many unique cultural features of the thousand-year-old Thang Long-Hanoi, in a programme entitled Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City, which is expected to open on August 23.

The delegation of the Capital will visit the Ho Chi Minh Museum and Ton Duc Thang Museum, offer flowers to the statues of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton, and visit and offer incense at the Cho Quan Hospital Prison Relic - where General Secretary Tran Phu was sacrificed.

In addition, there will be cultural and artistic activities, such as exhibition activities at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, an exhibition entitled “Thang Long Imperial Citadel - Hanoi - Heritage for the Future”, and an exhibition of paintings, photos, and documents about the special national relic of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (The Temple of Literature).

On this occasion, the delegation of Hanoi City will visit and present gifts to 70 families of policy beneficiaries and outstanding people with meritorious services, organise an exhibition of documents and photos associated with the content of the 70th anniversary of the Hanoi's Liberation Day, a programme on promoting and introducing products and promotion of tourism linking Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, introducing and experiencing Hanoi cuisine with culinary artists, and an art exchange programme named “Youth Melody”.
