Hanoi to set off fireworks on 70th anniversary of liberation

Hanoi is planning to launch fireworks at six locations to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the capital city’s liberation on October 10.

The pyrotechnic shows are scheduled to run for 15 minutes from 9 pm to 9:15 pm, according to a plan unveiled by the city government.

Fireworks will be set off at six locations in the districts of Hoan Kiem, Tay Ho, Nam Tu Liem, Hai Ba Trung, Ha Dong and Son Tay Town.

An estimated 4,200 high-range fireworks and 630 low-range fireworks will be launched.

The Hanoi People’s Committee assigned the Hanoi Capital Command to work with the concerned agencies to ensure the transport of fireworks and equipment.

The municipal government also requested the city’s police force to ensure fire safety and public security before, during and after the shows.
