During the rehearsal, Do Van Chien and delegates inspected the exhibition space showcasing the history of the formation and development of the National Assembly of Viet Nam, the digital experience area, the stage, seating arrangements in the hall, the reception and welcoming arrangements for delegates, the artistic programme, and a number of related ceremonial protocols.

Do Van Chien commended agencies and units for upholding a strong sense of responsibility and making proactive, concerted efforts in preparation for the event. He also drew lessons and provided guidance on several aspects of organisation, programme content, protocol, ceremonial decoration, delegate reception, and ensuring security and safety for the ceremony.

The ceremony is one of the major political events of 2026, providing an opportunity for the entire Party, people, and armed forces to reflect on the history of the formation and development of the National Assembly of Vietnam since the milestone of the first general election that elected the First National Assembly (January 6, 1946 – January 6, 2026). It also recognises the contributions, achievements, and lessons learned over the past 80 years in the cause of building, developing, and safeguarding the Socialist Republic of Vietnam through different revolutionary periods of the nation.

The commemorative ceremony will take place at Dien Hong Hall (the National Assembly House) on January 6, in accordance with state-level protocol.
