In the past, Tu Sang single-member limited liability company (SMLLC), based in Cai Be Commune, Dong Thap Province, produced rice threshing machines and later combined harvesters. The company won first prize at the Combined Harvester Competition in the Mekong Delta region as well as the Combined Harvester Competition in northern provinces. The company’s products have gained customers’ trust.
Building on these foundations, the company has continued its research into manufacturing increasingly modern mechanised equipment and machines for farmers. These devices have helped reduce labour, cut costs, and increase profits for farmers.
“Viet Nam’s agricultural sector is focusing on implementing the project titled ‘Sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality, low-emission specialised rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta’. This helps improve the quality of our rice, reduces costs, increases farmers’ profits, cuts greenhouse gas emissions, and contributes to environmental protection. This project involves many stages, including mechanisation. Therefore, our company has developed new products such as a seed drill machine combined with a fertiliser applicator. This machine reduces sowing seeds by about 50% and fertiliser use by 10–20%. Fertiliser efficiency is improved, pesticide use decreases by one to three times compared with traditional production methods, and yields rise by about 15%,” shared Nguyen Hong Thien, Director of Tu Sang SMLLC.
Recently, the company has made great efforts to create innovative products serving the agricultural sector. It has developed and become a science and technology enterprise.
As a science and technology enterprise, the company has received support from the Dong Thap Provincial Department of Science and Technology in researching and creating products serving the agricultural sector. This support has created conditions for the company to reinvest and further expand new products.

HK Trading Limited Liability Company (LLC), located in My Phong Ward, Dong Thap Province, was established in 2016 with the goal of trading organic fertilisers and supplying quality products, suitable for many ecological regions and all crops; and protecting the environment, creating producing safe and clean agricultural products for public health.
According to Chau Minh Hai, Director of HK Trading LLC, for many years, the company has partnered with cooperatives and collaborative production groups across the province.
Accordingly, the company provides materials and fertilisers, offers technical support and allows farmers to pay costs at the end of the season if they follow the correct process. This cooperation model helps members of cooperatives and production groups reduce input costs and pesticide spraying, while improving productivity and profits.
Currently, HK Trading LLC has implemented rice production and consumption linkages in several communes in Dong Thap Province, covering between 1,800 and 2,300 hectares depending on the season. Under this model, farmers are guided towards organic production.
According to Chau Minh Hai, over the past 10 years, the company has developed VD20 Go Cong rice. Its production process has been built and strictly applied from seed selection to final product. With guidance from the Dong Thap Department of Science and Technology in preservation, processing and production methods, the company has successfully created safe rice products with full traceability from input to output. In addition, the enterprise has received professional, procedural and financial support to register brand certification and intellectual property rights. In the coming time, the Dong Thap Provincial Department of Science and Technology will transfer a project on deep processing of VD20 Go Cong rice to the business.
The Dong Thap Provincial Department of Science and Technology said that in recent time, it has been actively supporting enterprises to improve productivity and product quality.
At the same time, the department has implemented various research projects, building traceability management systems for key products of Dong Thap Province.
Accordingly, the province has 20 products integrated into traceability management systems, and 10 enterprises have been granted certifications as science and technology enterprises.
