Prime Minister Le Minh Hung reiterated Party General Secretary and State President To Lam’s demand for breakthrough action delivering tangible and measurable results while chairing the third meeting of the Government’s Steering Committee for science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06 in Ha Noi on May 11.

The scientific intellectual community is increasingly asserting its pivotal role by actively offering advice, policy criticism and recommendations, while conveying many thoughtful views to the National Assembly on the development of science and technology in the current context.

The draft Decree on the organisation and operation of the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) is currently open for public comment, aiming to improve the legal framework and enhance the independence, transparency, and effectiveness of funding.

The application of science and technology is considered the “key” to developing agriculture in a modern and sustainable direction. This is the optimal solution to create breakthroughs in productivity and product quality, meeting the increasingly high demands of consumers and increasing export competitiveness.

Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico left Ha Noi on the early morning of April 14, concluding his three-day official visit to Viet Nam at the invitation of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

According to Nguyen Quyet Chien, Secretary-General of the Viet Nam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the building of a centralised digital data platform not only meets urgent requirements but also opens up the ability to effectively exploit “digital resources”, towards forming a shared data repository to serve governance and operations, and create additional momentum for the development of the entire system.

The upgraded platform represents a comprehensive shift from a simple information-sharing model to a managed online technology trading system, enabling monitoring and measurement of real transaction outcomes. It is built on three pillars, namely new tradable technology products, a modern digital platform, and an improved operational model.

Viet Nam aims to improve its Global Innovation Index ranking from the current 44th place to the top 40 by 2030, and the top 30 by 2045.
