The event, attended by Politburo member and Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education Vo Van Thuong, featured the participation of over 500 politicians, scholars, researchers and students from Vietnam and Russia.
The seminar was part of activities to mark the Vietnam Year in Russia and the Russia Year in Vietnam 2019 and towards the 70th anniversary of Vietnam – Russia diplomatic ties in 2020.
Speaking at the seminar, Politburo member Thuong emphasised that the President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament is an invaluable spiritual heritage and the crystallisation of knowledge, noble morals and style of a great man who had devoted his whole life to national independence and freedom and to the prosperity and happiness of the Vietnamese people.
The Testament is imbued with the humanity and infinite love of Uncle Ho for both Vietnamese people and international friends across the five continents and shows his aspiration for peace, reunification, independence, democracy and prosperity for Vietnam, added the Politburo member.
For his part, Governor of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, noted that the seminar is an important event highlighting the traditional friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.
He also said that President Ho Chi Minh’s heritage is invaluable for both Vietnamese and international people, including Russians.
Earlier, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong held a meeting with the Governor of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, talking about the relations between Saint Petersburg and localities in Vietnam. He also laid a wreath at a monument dedicated to victims in the Second World War.
