Participants at the event reviewed policies promulgated to mobilise social resources in developing culture and arts in Ho Chi Minh City while analysing the city’s available potential and advantages to attract more funding for culture and arts industries.
According to Associate Professor, Dr Bui Hoai Son, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education, it is necessary to complete incentive and preferential policies for sponsors and contributors, encouraging their investment in the arts.
The State needs to consider improving preferential tax policies for businesses and individuals who contribute to arts activities.
Sharing the same view, Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy Head of the Law-Building Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stressed that investment in cultural industry requires a huge source of funding, not only from the state but also from social resources, therefore, supportive laws and policies play a fundamental role in developing cultural industry.
