In Cao Bang Province, a delegation led by General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member and Minister of National Defence, oversaw the readiness of 566 polling stations with nearly 9,000 election staff.
Voters in the province will elect seven National Assembly deputies from 13 candidates, 50 provincial People Council deputies from 84 candidates, and 1,019 commune-level People Council deputies from 1,690 candidates. The candidate pool reflects diverse representation, with 38.46% women and 84.62% from ethnic minority communities.
Local authorities reported that all voter lists have been finalised and displayed, and election campaigns are being conducted openly in accordance with regulations. General Giang urged continued public awareness efforts, emphasising the role of community leaders in educating voters about their civic responsibilities to ensure a high-turnout, safe, and transparent election.
*Meanwhile, in Khanh Hoa Province, Tran Sy Thanh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and head of the PCC’s Inspection Commission, led a team to monitor election readiness at polling unit No. 12 in Nha Trang.
Officials confirmed political stability, public engagement, and comprehensive security measures, including for ethnic and religious communities. Authorities have also prepared facilities at polling stations to protect voters from sun and rain.
Politburo member Thanh highlighted the unique context of this election, following the administrative merger of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces, and the shortened electoral timeline, requiring coordinated efforts from central and local authorities. Special provisions are planned for coastal and island districts to ensure all voters can participate before the nationwide election day on March 15.
