His trip comes shortly after Party General Secretary To Lam’s successful state visit to Laos to attend its 50th National Day celebrations and co-chair the annual high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.
Tu stressed that the Party chief’s visit, timed to coincide with Laos’ 50th National Day and the 105th birth anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane, carried profound historical, political, and humane significance. It was an opportunity to reflect on the arduous yet glorious struggles of the Lao people, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to independence and enduring spirit of unity.
He congratulated Laos on its major, comprehensive achievements over the past five decades of national construction and four decades of reform, highlighting its thorough preparations for the upcoming 12th National Party Congress as a solid foundation for the country’s next development phase.
Viet Nam always strongly assists Laos in its renewal and development, and stands ready to share experience and give the top priority to assistance for Laos in strategic tasks during the new term, he said.
According to him, regular theoretical and practical exchanges between the two Parties at various levels on a wide range of substantive topics hold significance. They not only demonstrate the close and trusted relationship between the two Parties but also serve as a platform to share theoretical advances and practical experience in building a streamlined political system capable of meeting new development requirements in each country.
The host expressed delight that the great traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos are deepening across various fields, making important contributions to political stability, national defence-security, socio-economic development, and elevated standing of each Party and nation.
Viet Nam will spare no effort, together with Laos, to preserve and nurture this loyal and enduring relationship and pass it on to future generations, a strategic task vital to both countries’ security and development, Tu said.
The guest congratulated Viet Nam on its great and historic achievements over four decades of Doi Moi (renewal), expressing confidence that under the leadership of the CPV, the Vietnamese people will record even greater successes in its reform, fulfilling goals set in the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution ahead of the next Congress.
Praising the flourishing special Laos-Viet Nam relationship and the concrete benefits it delivers to both peoples, he pledged to fully absorb guidance from Vietnamese leaders and do his utmost to safeguard, cultivate and hand down this unique bond to coming generations.
