The 26th and final round witnessed fierce competition between the top three V-League teams, SHB Da Nang, Hanoi T&T and Saigon FC, for this year’s championship title.

A first half goal by defender Vo Hoang Quang and a second half double from striker Huynh Quoc Anh secured a decisive win for SHB Da Nang, lifting the team from third place to the top spot in the standings to convincingly claim this year’s title.

This is the third time SHB Da Nang have won the V-League competition, with their two previous titles in 1992 and 2009.

Hanoi T&T wrapped up the V-League 2012 as runners-up with a total of 47 points while Saigon FC came in third with 46 points following a goalless draw between the two teams at Thong Nhat stadium on the same day.

Anjembe Timothy from Hanoi FC was named the top scorer of the tournament for his total of 17 goals.

Their three respective Sunday victories over Song Lam Nghe An, Navibank Saigon and Vincem Hai Phong, helped Khatoco Khanh Hoa, Kienlongbank Kien Giang and Hanoi FC safeguard their tickets to play in the top-tier national football league next year.

Meanwhile, TDCS Dong Thap officially became the second team, after Vincem Hai Phong, to be relegated to the First Division for the next football season despite their 3-2 home turf triumph over Thanh Hoa on August 19.
