The signing of the agreement on the programme to promote children’s rights and youth’s rights in Vietnam in the 2021-2026 period took place in Hanoi on October 7.

The programme aims to boost the realisation of children's rights and obligations and the rights and obligations of young people in general in addition to ensuring gender equality and improving life skills, vocational skills and the livelihoods of young people.

Accordingly, the programme will feature four projects including "Promoting children's participation rights", "Girls ready for the future", "Standard youth - Say no to gender stereotypes" and "Vietnamese youth health - Raising awareness and promoting good practices in the prevention of non-communicable diseases".

The projects will take place in Hanoi, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Kon Tum, Lai Chau, and Ha Giang from now until June 30, 2026 and they will be considered for expansion to other localities.

First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Nguyen Anh Tuan, said that the Youth Union would work closely with the Plan organisation to effectively implement the projects within the framework of the agreement so that Vietnamese children have the opportunity to develop comprehensively and express their voice and right to participate in issues related to children.
