The province also declared the establishment of An Dien Ward and An Tay Ward under Ben Cat City.

An Dien and An Tay wards are set up based on the entire area of two communes of the same name. Ben Cat City was established based on the original Ben Cat Town, with an area of 234.35 km2 and a population of over 364,500 people. After its establishment, Ben Cat City has seven wards and one commune, becoming the fifth city of Binh Duong Province.

In recent years, Ben Cat has promoted industrial development. The city currently has eight industrial parks and one concentrated production area, creating jobs for about 180,000 workers.

Industrial parks have attracted 6,441 investment projects, including 816 foreign-invested projects with a total investment of nearly 9.8 billion USD.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong said that the establishment of Ben Cat City is a significant event, marking a new stride in local development.

He noted that the young city will face many difficulties but also expressed that Ben Cat authorities and people will promote their glorious tradition and solidarity to build a civilised, smart, dynamic and modern city.

At the ceremony, the Party Committee, authorities and people of Ben Cat Town were presented with the Labour Order (first class) for their outstanding achievements during 2018 – 2022.
