Son La Border Guards visit and extend New Year greetings to Lao armed forces

The Command of the Son La Provincial Border Guard organised a delegation to visit, extend New Year greetings, and engage in exchanges with the armed forces of Houaphanh Province, on April 14 on the occasion of Bunpimay–Laos' traditional New Year festival.

This is an annual activity of practical significance, contributing to strengthening and nurturing the traditional friendship and solidarity between Viet Nam and Laos in general, and between Son La and Houaphanh provinces in particular.

The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, imbued with a spirit of solidarity. Representatives of the Son La Provincial Border Guard Command expressed their close ties and extended New Year wishes to the officers, soldiers, and people of Houaphanh Province for good health, peace, happiness, and continued success.

On this occasion, the delegation also presented meaningful gifts, reflecting care, mutual support, and the strong bonds between the two sides.

At the meeting, the parties agreed to continue enhancing coordination in joint patrols, as well as in combating crime, particularly drug-related offences and illegal border crossings.

The New Year visit not only holds diplomatic significance but also provides an opportunity for the forces to strengthen information exchange and improve coordination in border management and protection, thereby maintaining security and order in the area.
