This is one of the activities within the framework of the comprehensive cooperation program for the period 2024-2028 between the People's Committee of Son La Province and Vietnam Airlines. Strawberries that ensure quality and food hygiene and safety according to VietGap standards will be provided to serve passengers on flights of the national airline.

The Son La Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Agency has coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Mai Son District to select typical cooperatives such as Xuan Que Strawberry Cooperative and ICHI FAM Strawberry Cooperative to introduce and supply qualified products on Vietnam Airlines flights.

Fresh, delicious strawberries that meet standards are processed by Noi Bai Aviation Catering Joint Stock Company (NCS) into many attractive dishes such as fresh strawberries, strawberry mousse cake and strawberry tea to serve passengers on some domestic routes and international routes to Europe, Australia, America, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.

Furthermore, Vietnam Airlines transports Son La strawberries on its flights to provinces and cities across the country. From 2023 to present, more than 2,200 tons of Son La strawberries have been transported by Vietnam Airlines, accounting for more than 92% of the province's strawberry output.

Vietnam Airlines is constantly searching for and selecting high-quality products from different regions to introduce to passengers, contributing to promoting agricultural product consumption and socio-economic development in localities.

Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La Province, said: "Son La strawberries being served as meals for passengers on Vietnam Airlines flights has affirmed the quality and brand of this agricultural product, thereby promoting Son La agricultural products and Vietnamese agricultural products to friends around the world."

Currently, Son La Province has over 740 hectares dedicated to strawberry cultivation, with an expected output of over 9,360 tonnes this year.

Previously, Vietnam Airlines has repeatedly brought the quintessence of Vietnamese fruits to take off on each flight such as: Hung Yen longan, Son La plum, Luc Ngan lychee (Bac Giang), Cao Phong orange (Hoa Binh), and Vietnamese coffee.

Through these cooperation programmes, Vietnam Airlines affirms its role as a bridge between regions, contributing to bringing Vietnamese agricultural products closer to domestic and international consumers.
