This statement was made by Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi municipal Party Committee, Hoang Trung Hai while meeting with the Party committee of Son Tay town on January 3 to review the implementation of socio-economic development tasks for 2016 and discuss key tasks for 2017.

In 2016, average income per capita in the town hit more than VND35 million. Industrial production value reached over VND3 trillion and tourism generated VND3 trillion. In the Hanoi Capital Region Construction Master Plan to 2030 with a vision to 2050, Son Tay town is expected to become one of five satellite urban areas of Hanoi. Son Tay satellite town has been selected as an urban area of historic culture andresort tourism.

Addressing the event, Secretary Hoang Trung Hai highly appreciated the result of authorities and local people in Son Tay.

However, the leader of the capital pointed out weaknesses in infrastructure, particularly transport systems in suburban areas.

He also asked governments at all levels and the people to continue to improve the quality of the criteria for building new-style rural areas in localities.

The Secretary of the municipal Party Committee noted that the Party Committee would direct relevant agencies to solve outstanding issues.
