On the evening of May 17, at the Pac Bo Special National Relic Site, the Cao Bang Provincial People’s Committee, the Viet Nam National Drama Theatre and Heritage World Magazine organised a free performance of a special artistic programme about President Ho Chi Minh.

The highlight of the programme was the short play about President Ho Chi Minh.

This activity carries profound political and humanitarian significance on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth (May 19, 1890–May 19, 2026) and the 85th anniversary of his return to the country to directly lead the Vietnamese revolution (1941–2026); towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (1930–2030), while also honouring President Ho Chi Minh as a national liberation hero and a great man of culture.

The organising committee selected the Pac Bo Special National Relic Site as the first destination in the performance series. It was here, 85 years ago, that President Ho Chi Minh, after more than 30 years abroad seeking a path for national salvation, returned to the Fatherland to directly lead the Vietnamese revolution. Amid the mountains and rivers of Pac Bo, the songs, music and theatrical stories about the President created an artistic space rich in historical depth and emotion.

The programme gathered many artists and singers from the Viet Nam National Music, Song and Dance Theatre and the Viet Nam National Drama Theatre.

The highlight of the programme was the short play about President Ho Chi Minh, directed by Meritorious Artist Mai Nguyen. Beyond recreating the image of the beloved leader through historical milestones, the works also portrayed the depth of his emotional life, as well as his closeness and compassion towards the people and working classes.

Sharing his thoughts on the programme, foreign visitor Andree, 23, from Germany, enthusiastically said “I am truly fortunate to be travelling here during the performance of this special artistic programme about President Ho Chi Minh. I know that President Ho Chi Minh is a national liberation hero and is honoured by the Vietnamese people as the father of the nation. If I have the opportunity to return to Viet Nam, I would gladly attend programmes like this.”

At 8 pm on May 18 and 19, the programme will be performed free of charge at the Cao Bang Provincial Convention Centre (Provincial Administrative Centre Area, 8 Thuc Phan Ward, Cao Bang Province).

After the performances in Cao Bang, the programme will be staged in Phu Tho on May 25 and will continue with 24 free performances at the Ho Chi Minh Museum – Ha Noi to serve domestic and international visitors on the occasions of September 2, 2026, May 19, 2027 and September 2, 2027 when visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum – Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace – Ho Chi Minh Museum.
