Standing NA Vice Chairman visits families of policy beneficiaries in Phu Quoc

On July 9, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man visited the Phu Quoc prison, families of policy beneficiaries, and martyrs’ cemetery in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang province, ahead of the 76th anniversary of the Day of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers (1947-2023).

While listening to touching stories on the resilient spirit of revolutionary soldiers who were detained at Phu Quoc prison, he expressed his respect for the great scarification of the soldiers for national peace and independence.

He said he was delighted at the development of Phu Quoc City and Kien Giang province in general.

He called on the Party Committee, authorities and people of Kien Giang province to further promote solidarity and to make continued efforts to gain rapid and sustainable development.

The same day, the Standing NA Vice Chair visited wounded soldier Tran Xuan Tho, who was once detained at Phu Quoc prison, and Nguyen Thi Gai, a family member of a fallen soldier, in An Thoi ward, Phu Quoc City.

During the visits, he stressed that the Party and State always remember and highly appreciate the services of heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers, and families of policy beneficiaries.

He asked local authorities and functional agencies, to take better care of families of policy beneficiaries, particularly those living in difficult circumstances.

Earlier, he offered incense and paid homage to fallen soldiers at the martyrs’ cemetery in Phu Quoc City.
