Street food event brings Norwegian flavours to Hanoi

A Norwegian street food event was held at the intersection of Hang Khay and Ba Trieu in Hanoi on April 17.

The event was arranged by the Norwegian Embassy to introduce Norwegian seafood as a delicious addition to Hanoi’s rich street food culture.

The event was sought to celebrate the good relationship between Norway and Vietnam.

Passers-by were invited to taste Norwegian salmon prepared by Vietnamese chefs in various Norwegian and Vietnamese fusion dishes.

The chefs demonstrated how to prepare the dishes on the spot.

The event was attended by Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg (first from left), who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

“Hanoian street food and Norwegian salmon are both world famous,” said Prime Minister Solberg

Norwegian PM Erna Solberg dropped by to chat informally with the guests about the food and to share recipes with the locals.

Norwegian seafood is known for its high quality and Norway is the largest exporter of salmon to Vietnam.
