The National Technology Innovation Fund (NATIF) announced that it is accepting applications for the second round of interest-rate subsidies for 2026, aiming to provide businesses with additional financial resources to invest in the adoption, transfer, and innovation of technologies, thereby improving their production and business capabilities.
Eligible applicants are legally established businesses implementing projects or investment plans involving technology transfer, application, innovation or other forms of innovation, using loans from credit institutions licensed to operate in Viet Nam.
The subsidised loans may be used for eligible investment and technological innovation activities, including the purchase of machinery, equipment and production lines for technology application and transfer.
Under the programme, the interest-rate subsidy covers 50% of the rate specified in the credit agreement between the business and the credit institution, subject to a maximum of 6% per year.
The subsidy period runs from the date of the fund’s approval until the business has fulfilled its debt repayment obligations to the credit institution, but may not exceed five years. At the time the business completes its repayment obligations, the loan must have at least 12 months remaining before its maturity date.
To qualify, businesses must have a signed credit agreement and a project or investment plan approved for financing by the credit institution, as well as commit to using the loan for its intended purpose. They must also demonstrate sufficient implementation capacity, financial resources, personnel, and facilities, fulfil reporting and documentation requirements, and comply with the fund’s inspection and supervision procedures.
Priority will be given to feasible projects with direct application potential that can generate economic benefits or address social issues, while contributing to higher productivity, improved quality, greater competitiveness and environmental protection.
The fund will prioritise businesses that have signed credit agreements with banks participating in the programme, as well as those with good credit ratings and no bad debts or Group 2 debts recorded in the preceding 24 months. Projects using technologies on the list of technologies encouraged for transfer, high technologies prioritised for investment and development, or strategic technologies will also receive priority consideration.
In addition, the programme gives priority to small and medium-sized enterprises, businesses undertaking technological innovation related to strategic technologies, and projects capable of generating an increase in added value of at least 7%.
Eligible applications will be considered in the order in which they are received until the allocated funding is exhausted.
The National Technology Innovation Fund said the deadline for submitting applications is November 16, 2026.
