The event was co-organised by the Ministry of National Defence; the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication, Education, and Mass Mobilisation; the Ministry of Public Security, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee.
The event featured 120 reports and key presentations that highlighted of the strategic leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, stressing that the 1975 victory was not only a military triumph, but also the incarnation of the Vietnamese strength in the Ho Chi Minh era.
Participants explored the military strategies of the resistance war against the US and drew practical lessons for Vietnam’s ongoing efforts to build a modern, socialist nation.
In his opening speech, Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang stressed that the Great Spring Victory of 1975 was not only a military feat but a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people and their unwavering commitment to national reunification and peace.
The victory showcased the Party’s visionary strategy, the effectiveness of the people’s war doctrine, and the deep-rooted patriotism driving Vietnam’s quest for unity, Giang noted. Its lessons have continued to inspire future generations to innovate and contribute to national development and defence.

For his part, Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of its Commission for Communication, Education, and Mass Mobilisation, emphasised that the Great Victory of Spring 1975 is always a huge source of encouragement for the entire Party, people and army in the cause of national construction and defence.
The resilience and determination of the army and people remain a powerful tradition, propelling Vietnam into a new era of development, he said.
In his closing speech, Minister of Public Security Gen. Luong Tam Quang hailed that the Great Spring Victory of 1975 left valuable lessons in both theory and practice for the national revolutionary cause; fostering in the entire Party, people and army a strong belief in the Party's leadership to advance into a new era – the era of national rise.
