The Department of Public Security of the central province of Lam Dong on January 12 announced that the force has completed the Quang Trung Campaign launched by the Prime Minister to rebuild and repair houses for people affected by storms and floods in the central region, and handed the houses over to residents six days ahead of schedule.

Military Region 5, in coordination with the Gia Lai People’s Committee, held a ceremony in the central province’s Tuy Phuoc Dong commune on January 10 to hand over 57 newly built houses, officially completing the construction of 100 new homes for local residents affected by recent storms and floods under the Prime Minister-initiated Quang Trung Campaign.

The General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army on January 9 issued an urgent dispatch calling for the maximum mobilisation of personnel and equipment to complete the Quang Trung Campaign, which focuses on rebuilding houses for residents affected by natural disasters.

The Ministry of Public Security on January 9 held a ceremony in Thuong Duc commune, Da Nang city, to review the “Quang Trung Campaign,” under which the force swiftly built and repaired houses for families whose homes were destroyed or severely damaged by natural disasters in the central and Central Highlands regions.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a dispatch calling on ministries, sectors and localities to make every effort to complete the “Quang Trung Campaign” before January 15, thereby helping people stabilise their lives and livelihoods ahead of the 14th National Party Congress and restore production and business activities before Tet (the Lunar New Year – the Year of the Horse).

Due to recent storms and floods, a total of 1,597 houses from Quang Tri to Lam Dong were collapsed or swept away and required rebuilding, while 34,759 were damaged and needed repairs.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 30 chaired a conference reviewing the rapid “Quang Trung Campaign” to rebuild and repair houses damaged by storms and floods in the central region, calling for efforts to complete the humanitarian campaign by the end of January to celebrate the upcoming 14th National Party Congress.

The Quang Trung Campaign may not involve gunfire, yet it must secure victory — a decisive victory — to bring joy and relief to the people, especially those left homeless or with damaged houses after the historic floods.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has stressed that the deadline for completing all housing repairs must be met by December 31, 2025, while all the construction of new homes must be finished by January 31, 2026, insisting that these targets will not be changed.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called the rebuilding and repairing of houses destroyed or severely damaged by recent storms and floods a mandate from the heart, urging all authorities to see it not as a normal political mission but as a moral commitment to the people.

All relevant agencies are working urgently to implement the Prime Minister’s directions on the implementation of the “Quang Trung Campaign” to rebuild and repair houses damaged by recent storms and floods in the central region, ensuring that all affected residents have safe homes to welcome the Lunar New Year, an official has said.

On December 6, Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Bui Thanh Son attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the “Quang Trung Campaign”, which supports the construction of new houses for households whose houses completely collapsed or were destroyed by natural disasters in Lam Dong Province.

The central city of Hue on October 6 launched the “Quang Trung Campaign” to urgently build and repair homes for households affected by the natural disasters that struck in late October and November.

On the morning of December 3, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and a delegation from the central agencies attended the launching ceremony of the “Quang Trung Campaign”, a rapid campaign to build and repair houses for families whose houses were damaged or collapsed due to natural disasters in Lam Dong Province.
