Hue City launches “Quang Trung Campaign” to rebuild homes for disaster-hit residents

The central city of Hue on October 6 launched the “Quang Trung Campaign” to urgently build and repair homes for households affected by the natural disasters that struck in late October and November.

The city considers this an urgent political task aimed at ensuring residents have safe shelter before the stormy season and in time for the upcoming Lunar New Year.

In implementing the Prime Minister’s directive on the “Quang Trung Campaign”, with the spirit of “Speed–Boldness–Effectiveness”, the Hue City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee affirmed that this is an urgent political mission to secure safe housing for residents ahead of the storm season and the upcoming Tet holiday.

Under the plan, the Department of Construction will provide housing designs that align with local customs and meet the “three-solid” criteria. The People’s Committee of Khe Tre Commune has been instructed to expedite land and construction procedures to avoid delays. Military and police forces, mass organisations, and the entire political system will be mobilised to participate in construction, ensuring safety and quality.

The authorities have called on businesses and philanthropists to continue contributing resources to support housing construction for affected residents. Households eligible for new homes are encouraged to cooperate closely with construction units to speed up completion.

At the launch ceremony, the city’s leaders emphasised the goal of leaving no one behind and pledged to implement the campaign in the spirit of utmost service to the people.
