The groundbreaking ceremony was jointly organised by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and Military Region 7, in Lac Thien 1 Hamlet, D’Ran Commune, one of the localities heavily affected by the recent floods.
Deputy PM Bui Thanh Son, leaders of Lam Dong Province, and representatives of Military Region 7 attended the groundbreaking ceremony and presented symbolic plaques of financial and construction support to four families in D’Ran Commune whose houses were completely collapsed due to natural disasters, including Dang Thi Be, Nguyen Van Nghia, Mai Ngoc Hiep, and Nguyen Quoc Huy.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son also presented 10 gift packages to households severely affected by the recent floods in D’Ran Commune, while encouraging them to make efforts to overcome difficulties, to soon stabilise their lives and restore production to ensure household livelihoods.
The Deputy PM also encouraged officers and soldiers of Division 5 under the High Command of Military Region 7 to support residents to repair and rebuild houses and overcome the consequences of natural disasters. He emphasised that the construction works supported financially and operationally by Military Region 7 hold great significance, especially towards the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the armed forces of Military Region 7 (December 10, 1945–December 10, 2025).
At the ceremony, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Muoi said that the recent floods caused severe damage in the locality. However, with the decisive involvement of the entire political system, Lam Dong has implemented comprehensive solutions to prevent, control and overcome natural disasters with the highest priority given to protecting the lives, health and livelihoods of people, ensuring that no one lacks shelter, no one suffers hunger or cold, and no student is left without a classroom. The recovery efforts have been carried out proactively, promptly, and effectively.
Preliminary statistics show that recent floods caused losses exceeding 1,500 billion VND in Lam Dong. Regarding housing, the number continues to change; incomplete statistics show that around 30 houses had completely collapsed and must be newly built, and thousands of other houses were flooded or affected. The province is focusing on urgently rebuilding and repairing houses for affected residents and supporting them in restoring production.
Chairman Muoi said the province targets that all families with completely collapsed houses will have new houses by January 15, 2026, and repairs to partially damaged houses will be completed by December 20, 2025.
At the groundbreaking site, 60 officers and soldiers of Division 5 under the High Command of the Military Region 7 clear the site, prepare materials and machinery, to build new homes for families whose houses had been completely collapsed due to natural disasters in D’Ran Commune.
Implementing the “Quang Trung Campaign” launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to rapidly rebuild and repair houses for families whose houses were damaged in recent natural disasters in central provinces, Lam Dong Province agreed to provide 120 million VND per completely collapsed house and 20–40 million VND per damaged house.
