After a regrettable defeat in the semifinals, Thai Son Nam were determined to win third place and pushed up their game speed from the starting minutes.

Thai Son Nam surprised everyone when Long Vu opened the scoring in only the first minute.

However, Naft Al-Wasa stabilised their line-up and equalised the score 1-1 in the seventh minute.

During the remaining time of the first half, Thai Son Nam players strengthened their attacks and netted two consecutive goals, leading 3-1.

Minh Tri’s goal in the first minutes of the second half widened the gap to 4-1 for the Vietnamese team.

Iraq’s team played better and put increasing pressure on the Thai Son Nam side. Their efforts paid off with two consecutive equalisers.

With confidence and strong determination, Vietnam’s players continuously launched fierce attacks on their rival’s goal. Two goals by Van Vu and one from Quoc Nam helped Thai Son Nam beat Naft Al-Wasat with a final score of 7-3.

With the impressive victory, Vietnam brought home the bronze medal at the regional futsal tournament for the first time.
