This was announced by the event’s organisers at the launch ceremony of the biennale, which was held at the 22 Hang Buom Cultural and Arts Centre in Hanoi on April 21.
The biennale was initiated by the French Institute in Vietnam, under the sponsorship of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee.
The event will bring together more than 100 Vietnamese and international photographers, curators, speakers and experts in photography.
The event seeks to bring the arts closer to the public through exhibitions, workshops, and film screenings, held across seven districts in Hanoi.
An exhibition entitled ‘Hanoi – A city in photography’ kicked off on the occasion, showcasing photos of Vietnam’s capital city by 16 artists from home and abroad.
