The event is designed to the mark the 68th anniversary of the liberation of Vietnam’s capital city.
According to HAPA Chairman Nguyen Van Toan, the contest launched in August and saw the participation of 216 photographers with 1,786 entries under two themes “Hanoi - Confidence and Aspiration” and “Beauty of Vietnam”.
The jury panel selected 60 works on the theme of Hanoi and 52 works on the theme of Vietnamese beauty to display at the exhibition.
For each theme of the contest, the organisers awarded one first prize, two second prizes and three third prizes.
According to Vu Anh Tuan, head of the contest’s art council, the photos have provided diverse angles about changes in socio-economic development as well as the distinctive beauty of Hanoi and other localities throughout the country.
The exhibition is being staged at 45 Trang Tien Street and will run until October 11.
