Speaking at the event, Vice President Xuan asserted that the Party and State always attaches special attention to supporting and caring for revolutionary contributors, especially those living in former revolutionary bases and disadvantaged areas.

She applauded the efforts made by the provincial Party Committee, authorities and people of Bac Kan in recent years to boost socio-economic development and ensure social welfare, particularly for national contributors.

She informed the guests that the Party, National Assembly and Government have promulgated preferential policies for people in disadvantaged areas, including policies on reducing poverty, building new rural areas, and facilitating socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited, mountainous areas.

She expressed her hope that the delegates will continue to promote patriotism and make further contributions to the provincial development.

In the context of the country celebrating the 75th anniversary of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day, she asked the Bac Kan provincial authorities to organise practical activities to mark the occasion, and to pay greater attention to raising the public awareness of patriotism and gratitude for people who rendered services to the country.
