[Video] Banks cut savings interest rates following State Bank directive

Fifteen commercial banks cut their listed deposit interest rates by 0.5 to 0.7 percentage points for terms of six months or longer on October 19, following a directive from the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV).

The SBV has called for listed deposit rates for terms of six months or longer to be cut by at least 0.5 percentage points per annum. It has also asked banks to reduce lending rates by 1.5 to 2 percentage points for the production, business and priority sectors.
