[Video] Revised Land Law to give State authority over land pricing

The Resolution on the orientation for amending the Land Law stipulates that the State will regulate, oversee and determine land prices when land is brought into use, while shifting from a compensation-based approach to one that ensures living conditions and livelihoods for people whose land is acquired.

Under the proposed amendments, the State will exercise its ownership rights by deciding land-use planning and plans, land recovery, land allocation and leasing, recognition of land-use rights, approval of changes in land-use purposes, and land pricing. Land prices will be determined on the basis of comprehensive data, scientific methodologies, and transparent procedures, ensuring a balanced approach that safeguards the interests of the State, land users and investors.
