Viet Nam’s Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Bao introduced the functions and responsibilities of the National Assembly Committee for Economic and Financial Affairs, highlighting its role in economic oversight, appraisal, and participation in the formulation and revision of laws and resolutions related to economic, financial, and budgetary matters before submission to the National Assembly, as well as supervision of budget implementation and financial planning at the local level.

He affirmed that Japan is one of Viet Nam’s leading friendly and trusted partners and expressed his hope to continue receiving feedback and recommendations from the Japanese side in order to further improve the legal and policy framework and enhance the investment and business environment.

Responding to views from the Japanese participants, Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Bao reaffirmed that the Vietnamese State consistently values and will continue to create the most favourable conditions for foreign investors, including Japanese enterprises, to invest and conduct long-term business in Viet Nam with confidence. He underscored the determination of relevant authorities to further advise on improving the legal system, simplifying administrative procedures, and enhancing the transparency, stability, and predictability of the investment and business environment.

Regarding infrastructure connectivity, he noted that Viet Nam’s international flights are currently concentrated mainly in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. However, in the future, Viet Nam will place greater emphasis on promoting the internationalisation of airports in localities with dynamic exchanges, cooperation and trade relations, thereby better meeting the connectivity needs of businesses and people of both countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, all sides expressed satisfaction with the frank, specific, and practical exchanges, describing the event as an important opportunity for legislative bodies, friendship organisations, and local partners of the two countries to strengthen mutual understanding and trust. Both sides agreed to continue promoting close exchanges, particularly through parliamentary channels, friendship associations, and cooperation between localities, thereby contributing to further deepening the Viet Nam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the new phase.
