Viet Nam Data Experts Network launched in Hue City

The National Data Association, in collaboration with the Hue City People’s Committee, officially launched the Viet Nam Data Experts Network (VDEN) on October 16. The initiative brings together Vietnamese data specialists from both within the country and abroad to promote the development of the data economy and advance national digital transformation.

According to the National Data Association, VDEN was established at a time when data has become a strategic resource playing a pivotal role in driving the digital economy. The network operates on five core principles: voluntarism and collaboration; transparency and accountability; scientific integrity and quality; security and respect for privacy; and global connectivity with a distinct Vietnamese identity.

At present, nearly 80 experts from countries such as the Republic of Korea, the US, Japan, Canada, and Australia have committed to joining the network.

As part of the event, the organising committee announced key personnel appointments and witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Hue City People’s Committee, the National Data Association, and the Viet Nam Informatics Association.

On the same day, a thematic workshop titled “Promoting Viet Nam’s Data Economy” was held, featuring four discussion sessions on artificial intelligence applications, data infrastructure and markets, human resources, and investment policies. A technology exhibition area was also arranged for startups to showcase products and connect with experts and investors.

The launch of VDEN is expected to establish a long-term platform for cooperation, contributing to Viet Nam’s ambition of becoming a data-driven and innovation-oriented nation in the digital era.
