Fragrant rice with 5% broken grains is currently priced from 420 USD to 435 USD per tonne — the lowest level in the past two months. In the Mekong Delta, the highest price for fragrant paddy stands at 5,650 VND per kilogram, while ordinary paddy averages over 5,100 VND per kilogram. Prices of both unmilled and milled white rice have seen slight declines.
In terms of production, as of October 20, provinces in the Mekong Delta had completed the Summer-Autumn harvest with an output of more than 7.5 million tonnes. The Autumn-Winter crop has been planted on over 763,000 hectares, surpassing the initial plan.
On the international market, rice prices in India and Thailand have continued to fluctuate slightly, while Bangladesh has increased imports to stabilise its domestic market.
