Vietnam Airlines stewardess suspended for alleged smuggling

Nhan Dan – Vietnam Airlines cabin attendant Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, who was arrested in Japan on suspicions of attempting to smuggle stolen goods into Vietnam, has been suspended from work, the airline announced on March 27.

The same punishment was imposed on five other members of the flight crew, including a copilot and four cabin attendants, who are suspected of involvement in the smuggling case.

All five employees were asked to file reports about the incident and to prepare for the investigation.

On the same day, the Vietnam Airlines branch office in Japan provided all information and documents relating to the case, as required by the Japanese authorities.
