Established on March 18, 1998, Vietnam Friendship Village is a unit under the Vietnam War Veterans' Association (VWVA), aiming to help war veterans, former youth volunteers and their descendants, infected with Agent Orange/dioxin.

After 25 years of construction and development, the village now has fully functional subdivisions, serving the needs of accommodation, study, work, medical examinations and treatment, physical training and sports, a therapeutic swimming pool and gardens, in a beautiful, green and clean complex.

So far, the Vietnam Friendship Village has received and cared for about 7,000 veterans, former youth volunteers and nearly 700 children who are victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, from localities from Thua Thien - Hue province to the northern provinces.

The village has rotated to provide nursing, care and treatment, for about 60 veterans and former young volunteers, from 36 provinces and cities.

With the dedication and noble contributions from generations of leaders, officials and employees, Vietnam Friendship Village was honoured to receive the Second-class Labour Order.
