Vietnam National University, Hanoi listed among world’s top 1,000

The Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has been listed in the 801-1000 group in the annual global ranking as compiled by the Times Higher Education, a British provider of higher education data.

Two other Vietnamese universities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi University of Science and Technology were placed in the 1001+ group.

This year the rankings measured 1,527 universities around the world based on indicators that consider an institution’s performance across Teaching (the learning environment); Research (volume, income and reputation); Citations (research influence); International outlook (staff, students and research); and Industry Income (knowledge transfer).

According to the rankings, the world’s top 5 include the University of Oxford in the UK and four universities in the US namely, Stanford, Harvard, the California Institute of Technology and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
